Prof. Jeff Ducanes is Outstanding Young Scientist in Economics
Dr. Geoffrey “Jeff” Ducanes is this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Young Scientist (OYS) Awards in the field of Economics.
The OYS Awards are given to young Filipino scientist who have made significant contributions to science and technology.
Twelve OYS Awards are available annually and are split among the following divisions: Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Technology, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences.
The OYS award will be conferred by the National Academy of Science and Technology on July 10, 2014.
Congratulations to Profs. Toby Monsod, Marina Durano, and Noel de Dios, NAST Outstanding Book Awardees for 2014
The National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) will bestow the Outstanding Book Awards for 2014 to Profs. Toby Monsod, Marina Durano, and Noel de Dios for their book entitled “2012/2013 Philippine Human Development Report: Geography and Human Development“.
The three professors will receive the award during the NAST Annual Scientific Meeting in July 2014.
The 2012/2013 Philippine Human Development Report with the theme Geography and Human Development is the 7th in the series of Reports which began in 1994. It focuses on geography as a deep determinant of human development and examines how it is linked to human development outcomes across provinces.
