From the OUR’s Supplemental FAQ (read it here):

For first semester AY 2020-2021, grade requirement for shiftees and transferees will be based on their available numeric grades :

  1. For shiftees within the college or within UP Diliman (S1 and S2):
    1. In the computation of the CWA, only the available numeric grades in all previous semesters until the first semester AY 2019-2020 for courses that will be credited into the new program will be considered.
    2. In the computation of the GWA, only the available numeric grades in all previous semesters until the first semester AY 2019-2020 for all subjects taken will be considered. N.B.: UPSE additional requirement: Prospective shiftees or transferees into the BSE and BSBE programs are required to have a numerical grade for Math 21 or its nearest equivalent courses. If only the latter is available, an applicant may still be accepted but will have to complete units for Math 21 as a prerequisite to taking higher Econ subjects.
  2. For transferees from other UP CUs ( T1): In the absence of a BOR resolution for other UP CUs not to count the numeric grades in the second semester AY 2020-2021 in the computation of the general weighted average of a student, in the computation of the GWA of T1, only the available numeric grades for all subjects taken will be computed.
  3. For transferees from other universities (T2):
    1. In the computation of the GWA, only the available numeric grades for all the collegiate academic units taken outside UP will be computed;
    2. the minimum GWA requirement of the University is an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM 2.00;
    3. A T2 must satisfy the GWA requirement of the degree program applied for.

NOTES:

[a] If, due to the ECQ, required Math or Econ courses are graded non-numerically, i.e. with a “P”, applicants are requested to ask their teachers to indicate a numerical or adjectival equivalent.

[b] Applicants who were prohibited by their degree programs from taking Math 21  may still be considered, subject to conditions (e.g. numerical grades obtained in equivalent courses during the mid-term.)

[c] For Student Number 2017 or earlier, Math 17 and 100 (or their equivalent) and Acct 1 may be considered in lieu of Math 21 and 30, and BA 99.1 and 99.2.

[d] Econ 101 and 102 are open to non-majors by Consent of Instructor only.

[e] Where no equivalent courses to Math 21 and 30 is available, the nearest available equivalent courses may be considered.

[f] Successful transferees will still be required to take and pass validation exams for Econ 11, 101 and 102 before these are credited.
