To further the goals of the 12th National Social Science Congress, we are holding a pre-conference public lecture entitled, “Understanding Poverty: Theories and Key Concepts” by Dr. JC Punongbayan.
The NSSC12 pre-conference public lecture series is a lead-up to NSSC12, which will provide an avenue to initiate public and scholarly discussions on the multidimensional nature of poverty, bring social science perspectives and research to a wider audience, and build momentum toward the Congress.
This upcoming session introduces major concepts, theories, and frameworks for understanding poverty as a multidimensional social condition. It will be held via Zoom and at the UP School of Economics on 12 October 2026 (Monday) at 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
