Undergraduate Programs

The UPSE undergraduate programs train students to: develop economic solutions to problems related to the operation of markets and the macroeconomy; engage intelligently in social, political, and economic discourses; employ qualitative and quantitative methods in validating propositions, interpreting results, and presenting economic ideas; conduct independent inquiry or research that apply social and economic theories and methodologies; and relate economic concepts to problems of other disciplines such as business, finance, and public policy.

BS Economics has a flexible liberal arts curriculum that allows for 33 units of free electives, including the option to pursue a Minor in another field such as Mathematics and Education.

BS Business Economics is tailored for students who have already chosen to pursue a minor in Business Management, providing a strong foundation in economics with a focus on business applications.
